CHRISTIAN PLOMP

CHRISTIAN PLOMP, beloved husband of the late Camille (Pat) Plomp, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Chris was born on March 28, 1912 in Monarch, AB. Soon after his birth, the family moved to Kipp, AB. Chris had worked different jobs from a cowboy at the age of 10, to managing Lumber Yards till his retirmenet. Chris married Camille (Pat) Freel on October 30, 1937. Together they raised four children. When Chris was not away camping and fishing with his family and friends, he loved to work in his garage. In the evenings, Chris and Pat played many games of cards. He loved to go with Pat for coffee at Woodward’s and Zellar’s and bush with his coffee buddies. Later on when he could not make it to Zellars, he and his daughter Reta would sit in the car with coffee and doughnuts and he would share stories of his life while watching the train go over the bridge. Chris was a quiet, gentle, soft spoken man, with a great sense of humour. He is survived by his children Jacqueline (John) Crable, Randy (Peggy) Plomp, Reta Plomp and Garry (Debbie) Plomp, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, sister in law Elaine Plomp and special friend and family member Bill Plomp. He was predeceased by his wife Camille, brothers John, Casey, and Albert, sisters Nettie, Fay and Pat. A Private Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
