CHERNESKI, MARGARET (NEE PRICE)
Margaret gained her rest at home on the afternoon of Saturday, November 16, 2019, with the support of family.
Margaret began her life journey April 21, 1943, at the Grace Hospital in Calgary. She grew up in Taber with her parents, Sidney and Vivian Price. Her pony was a constant companion as they explored in and around Taber together. In school she enjoyed participating in baseball and track and field. Margaret attended Alberta College in Edmonton where she met her life companion. She started her career at Crown Trust in Calgary and ended at U. of A. hospital provincial lab in Edmonton. She married Lawrence on July 3, 1965, and moved to the farm January 1967, where they awaited the birth of their first child. Margaret's passion for family, youth and music remained a constant through her life. She started at age 15 and continued for 35 years as Sunday school teacher, CGIT leader, Sunday School Superintendent and finished leading a South Alberta Youth group. During this time Margaret also supported her family through 4H, youth groups and sports; while maintaining the family home. Margaret became "mom" to many youth and helped shape many young persons lives. Fortunately, grandchildren arrived enabling Margaret to continue travelling to watch their various activities all through her life.
Margaret was wife to Lawrence Cherneski. Mother of Susan (Cam) Cleland, Laura (Robyn) Darichuk and Nancy (Terry) Wegener. Grandmother to Colyn, Sydney and Carson Cleland, Carmen and Lyndsey Darichuk and Jessica and Cody Wegener.
Celebration of life will take place at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, November 25, at 1:00 P.M. At Margaret's request we would like you to wear your colorful clothes to help celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers Margaret would appreciate a donation to a youth group of one's choice.
