MAUREEN CHARLESWORTH, beloved wife of the late Howard Charlesworth, passed away peacefully at her home after a brief illness at the age of 80 years. Maureen was born on July 28, 1930 in Coalhurst, Alberta to Jim and Ethel Beveridge. She was raised at the head gates for LNID before moving to the Barrhill area. Mom attended school in Bulmer and Barrhill School; before moving to Calgary to attend school. She returned to Lethbridge and worked for the PFRA. Maureen and Howard were married on August 27, 1954, they celebrated 56 years together. They moved to Barrhill in 1960 and purchased Barrhill Farm Sales. They continued in business until returning in November of 1996. They moved to Lethbridge in 1999 and remained there until her passing. Maureen is survived by her children Elaine (Jerry) Fress, Diane (Arnold) Shumaker, Karen (Gerry) Moore and Craig (Arlene) Charlesworth. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Cory (Lila) Fress, Kelly Fress, Braden Shumaker, Ryan (Tara) Moore, Devin Moore, and one special great grandchild Quinton Howard Moore. Maureen is also survived by her sister Lorraine Jensen, in laws Eileen Clark, Stephanie Charlesworth, Ron and Carol Charlesworth, Willard Charlesworth and Valerie Charlesworth. Besides her loving husband she was pre-deceased by her sister Shirley Anderson, brother Ed Clark and brothers-in-law Clarence Jensen and Art Charlesworth. A Celebration of Life will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329-15 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Wallace, officiating.
