Charles was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on January 1, 1986, the third of four children, born to John and Dorothy Hubert. Charles dedicated his life to Christ at Camp Evergreen in the summer of 1996. He was baptized by Pastor Lorne Willms on the confession of his faith in the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church on June 6, 2004. Charles found comfort and strength in his faith throughout his life. After High School, Charles attended Bethany College where he enjoyed and participated in music, receiving a 2-year diploma April 17, 2006. He then began an apprenticeship as an electrician receiving his Red Seal Journeyman Certificate in 2013. He worked for various electrical contractors throughout Alberta. Charles played hockey for many years, beginning in pre-Novice and continuing as an adult playing in recreational leagues. One hockey highlight was winning a Provincial Gold medal as a PeeWee. He enjoyed animals, travelling with his family, playing chess, golfing, spending time with nieces and nephews, helping others and working on the farm.
Charles met Anita, the love of his life, in 2013, and they were married on November 17, 2018. Anita and Charles established their home and their family in Coaldale, Alberta. They excitedly welcomed Hayes Francis on May 19, 2022 and their twins, Addison Mae and Grayson Charles, on July 10, 2024. Charles was a devoted husband and cherished son, a supportive brother and a fun uncle. But above all, his most important and valued role was being a loving father to his three children.
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humour and the love he shared with his family and friends. His presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
