Challis Gross

Send a Tribute

With love and gratitude, we celebrate Challis, who has moved on to a place free of pain, she faced 16 years of illness with strength and grace, and through it all, her greatest joy was Ada—her beautiful, confident daughter, her reason for fighting, and her greatest legacy.

With love and gratitude, we celebrate Challis, who has moved on to a place free of pain, she faced 16 years of illness with strength and grace, and through it all, her greatest joy was Ada—her beautiful, confident daughter, her reason for fighting, and her greatest legacy.

She was a beloved daughter to Kelley and Tim Gross, a devoted sister to Eastyn Gross, and was thrilled to soon call Samantha McFadden her sister-in-law. She shared a deep love with David, who cared for her and Ada. She adored her grandmothers, Anne Crighton and Jean Gross and is now reunited with Grandfathers Bob Crighton and George Gross. Her aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends will forever treasure the laughter and memories she gifted them.

Per Challis’ wishes, there will be no service. Instead, honour her by being kind and compassionate, if inclined, donate to NOKA Animal Rescue. Her love for animals was unsurpassable.

Challis, your light lives on in Ada and in all of us. Rest easy, beautiful soul, how lucky we all were to have loved you.

Challis was my daughter Jayme Zuback's hairdresser and Dear friend. They met and connected due to health reasons, but soon became friends. Jayme spoke of Challis and Ada often. Jayme went on to be with the Lord five years ago, and I had spoke to Challis about it often. I am so very very sorry for your loss. It is a club no parent wants to be in. I know for certain that they will meet again in the Heaven's above, with no pain. Sincere condolences to you and your family.

Sending all of our love to Challis' family, and the warmest of peace and love to Ada. We have had the amazing gift of knowing Challis for the last ten years or so. We met her through the jeep club with her bright bubbly orange jeep which complimented her striking personality. She treated us like family and loved my kiddos as such. ❤️ To have her as a friend, also meant we had the chance to experience true kindness, love and joy. Her spark and positivity that she embraced others with, even when she herself was having a hard time feeling it, was truly a blessing. There are no words for how our hearts hurt at the thought of her not being with us anymore. I randomly saw a quote yesterday that said "Be the things you love the most about the people who are gone". I thought it was fitting and a wonderful idea. So here's to you beautiful lady. I look forward to our next bubble tea or Starbucks date one day.

Dear Kelly, Tim, and Easton I send to you my deepest love and prayers during this time.

Challis was an amazing person and an exceptionally talented hairdresser. Even after I lost my hair due to cancer she kept in touch and was so kind. Challis just glowed, even when sick. I am just glad that her lovely spirit is now free and at rest.
