Crombez, Carole

August 24, 2025

CAROLE JOAN CROMBEZ, beloved wife of the late Walter Crombez, of Lethbridge County passed away at home on August 24, 2025 at the age of 80 years.

Carole is survived by her two children Clint Crombez and Kim Kaupp as well as her daughter-in-law Isabelle Crombez. Carole dearly loved her four grandchildren: Chad Shaw, Makayla Crombez, Samantha Kaupp, and Brandon Kaupp. She is also survived by her two sisters: Joyce Bach and Gwen Fikus as well as all of her nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Carole came to Canada with her mother Dorothy after the war to join her father William Coutts. She grew up in Lethbridge and shared wonderful stories of growing up on the North side. As she got a little older, she would work for her father’s business at Lethbridge Lockers.

She met the love of her life Walter and they married a short time later and started their life together on the farm where she would choose to live out her life.

Carole loved curling and spent many a winter’s day travelling to curling rinks to watch Walt or Clint play and even play a few games herself. She never missed watching the Scotties and Brier on TV. She was also an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and never missed a game. Her knowledge of the game was impressive. Carole loved to read and would often say she didn’t care where she would have to wait for anyone as long as she had a good book.

She was an amazing grandma, always giving the best hugs. She was famous for spoiling her grandchildren’s appetites with ice cream treats and cookies. Carole will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be taking place at a later date.

Carole’s family would like to extend a thank you to Cornerstone Funeral Home for their compassionate service during this time.
