Campbell, Anne

'Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.' ~ Matthew 5:8 ANNE CAMPBELL, beloved and loving wife of George H. Campbell for over 75 years, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side at the St. Michael's Health Centre on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Besides her loving husband, Anne is survived by her two daughters Pat (John) Lawson and Audrey Campbell of Lethbridge and grandchildren Sharon Lawson of Lethbridge and Neil De Maere in Japan. She was predeceased by a daughter Doreen in 1949, parents and four siblings. In 1932, Anne married George in Manitoba and assumed the demanding role of a farm wife. Family, friends and hired men knew that mom's hearty meals, accompanied by her fresh baked bread, cinnamon buns, cakes or pies were a delicious reflection of her hospitality. After retiring from farming, Anne and George moved to Lethbridge in 1978. They were blessed to be able to live in their home until October 2005. During those years she enjoyed and appreciated the friendship and help of wonderful neighbours. Mom kept a lovely home and was happiest when surrounded by family. We are grateful to have had our wonderful wife, mom and grandma in our lives for so many years. We will miss her lovely smile and voice, be comforted by her legacy of love, generosity and forgiveness and the inspiration of her consistent faith in God. We wish to thank Dr.'s Gamil and Mona Cassis, Dr. Ikuta, the staff at SMHC, Terry and Ashley from Quality Care and previous private care givers for their kindness and wonderful care of Anne. A private family Graveside Service was held at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the St. Michael's Foundation, 1400 - 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4V5.
