Mike was predeceased by his parents, Geoffrey in 2009 and Eunice in 2022.
Mike was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He was a character and a half, the best storyteller, and his sense of humour was with him to the end. He was a Canadian Army Veteran who served in the Royal Canadian Regiment 2nd Battalion from 1966-1969. He then went on to become a well-respected RCMP officer for more than 30 years.
He was an avid marksman, fisherman and outdoor enthusiast. In the winters, he loved to ski and play hockey, while in the summers, he loved to hunt gophers and play baseball. Mike loved his muscle cars and attending the car shows in Alberta. He also loved watching hockey (Go Oilers!) and boxing on TV. He touched us all and our time with him was always an adventure.
A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at the VULCAN LEGION, 240 Sinclair Road, Vulcan, AB on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's name to the Royal Canadian Legion (www.legion.ca/donate).

Mike, I had heard the stories when I was growing up. Somehow this character was in every RCMP story I every heard dad talk about. Then I got the opportunity to meet you. All of a sudden I understood why he was in every story. And he added to that legend on that gopher hunting excursion to Vulcan. I treasure the stories, and the memories. Rest well Iron Mike.
