ANDRE EDOUARD CAILLIAU beloved father passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Enchant on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his children: John (Giselle) of Enchant, Steve of Enchant, Roland (Fay) of Valleyview, grandchildren; Juliette of Taber, Daniel (Kelly) of Sherwood Park, Sebastien (Danielle) of Enchant, Marie Odette of St. John's, NB, David (Dana) of Calgary and Suzanne of Vancouver, his great grandchildren; Danni, Theresa, Ellie and Alexander. Andre was predeceased by his great grandson William in January of 2008. He was born in Bourbourg (Nord) France on July 7, 1919 and grew up on the family farm in northern France, then served 4 years in the French Army during WWII. He later emigrated to western Canada in 1958 after the loss of his first wife, Rolande Sneck (1955). Andre then married Odette Wiart in 1959 (1910-1991) and farmed in the Trochu area until 1966 when he moved to Enchant. Andre enjoyed the simple things in life; his family, his work and his tractor as he was always a farmer at heart. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Prayer Service will be held at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 324-2nd Avenue North, Vauxhall, AB on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk officiating. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 324-2nd Avenue North, Vauxhall, AB on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Enchant Community Cemetery.
