I'm saddened to read of the loss of Phil . We sat beside each other in medical school and had many great moments together . I will always remember his humour , wit , incredible love of his children and Anne . He had so many stories of Claire and Brendan -- proud dad . He was a calm and charming man who help keep me sane during my quest to achieve success as a budding Internal medicine doc . I send wishes of love to his family

Utterly and completely devastated to see this. Dr. Browne was by Obgyn with my son in 2018 but I spent many years prior in his care. I am not sure I could ever put into words how thankful I am, but in a round about way I'm pretty sure he saved my life . He was gentle, compassionate, patient and so very kind. I will be forever grateful for all the laughs and memories had while in his care, and remain eternally grateful to him. Condolences to the family ?

My heartfelt sympathies to Anne and family. Phil was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by all. He was a smart, caring and skilled physician who always stood up for doing the right thing. It was my profound pleasure to know and work with Phil. I really enjoyed working with and learning from him. He was deeply respected. Keeping you all in our thoughts and wishing you peace and comfort at this very difficult time.

I will forever remember and be grateful for Dr. Browne. For his kindness, humour, and patience with my family. He helped us have our two sons, after years of fertility struggles. He was a pleasure to see, and I always looked forward to the visits-checkups. We bonded over birds, both having worked for DU, and he always would throw a few bird names out, that I did not know, hence me looking them up after leaving his office. :-) I saw him shovelling snow in December, a few months after his diagnosis, and he looked quite content shovelling all that snow, it was a mild night and the snowflakes were big and beautiful. I will remember his smile and big energy. Thank you for sharing the service. I knew him as my doctor, and it was truly so nice to see him throughout his entire life, as well as to see all those he loved. Will always remember you Dr. Browne.

Anne, Clare, and Brendan,
Sharing my career shift to medicine with Phil was one of biggest blessings of the adventure. Phil's friendship got me through medical school, and we still remind our Brendan that he was delivered by my best friend in medical school. I am trusting that your many fond memories of Phil can help you smile through a very difficult time. Thinking of you,
Sincerely,

I had the pleasure to work many years with Dr Browne... he used to call us the "Browne Team". I would tell our patients he was my Grampa....although we are not related, I definitely loved this man.
His kind, caring, generous soul and sense of humour like no other... I played many pranks on him and we always had some ongoing joke. Don't worry he always got me back. Although he loved his work, his true love was his family. He always talked about them and was so proud of his wife, children and grandkids. We heard many stories and saw many photos. You're all in my thoughts today and always. Dr Browne you brought so much life into this world and will continue to live in our memories and be a part of our work everyday. We will miss you.

Dr. Browne was truly a lovely man and doctor. I was blessed to have him deliver all three of my children. I give him credit for keeping us out of the NICU with my last baby. Without his dedication to staying on top of research (and being on call the night I came in), I truly believe our last experience would have been very different. Dr. Browne always made me feel comfortable, answered my questions, and offered a listening ear. He even took the time to ask my husband questions when he was at my office visits. Dr. Browne will be missed.

Sad to see the passing of Dr. Browne. He was my OB for the pregnancy of both my children now 8 and 5 yrs old. I just want you to know from a patients perspective just how outstanding he was as a Doctor. He was very professional, thorough, grounded and witty. He was the best Doctor I have ever had and he made all the nerves of having my first child a breeze despite having some bumps along the way. He always talked with common sense and gave the reassurance that I needed. He never talked down to his patients and despite being clearly busy always took the time to listen to every concern and worry a new mom has. I never once doubted my babies and myself were not in good hands in the care of Dr. Browne. He was very witty and always had a way to make you laugh. He spoke highly of both his wife and family and he did talk about his love for birds! He was an excellent Doctor and will be a great loss to the medical community. Because of you Dr Browne, my husband and I have two wonderful children that we adore and I will be forever grateful for the extraordinary care you provided me as your patient. My condolences to the family for the loss of such a good man. May you Rest In Peace Dr. Browne Sincerely,

Our sincere condolences with the passing of Dr. Browne. He was the most patient, kind and caring man. His happy whistle and friendly smile were always present and easily put my anxiety at ease with the deliveries of our 3 daughters. Dr. Browne was my OB & delivered my last 2 children (Elsie & Addison) Addison must have been close to one of his last deliveries as he was put off work already before my 6 week follow up. He treated me and my husband with great respect and made sure my anxieties were put at ease with his ability to naturally create a calm environment with his simple presence. I'm so sad to hear of the passing of dear Dr Browne. Dr Browne cared for me during a pregnancy I never thought would be successful. I will never forget his bedside manner with a girl who was terrified every step of the way. His effortless sense of humour always brightened my days. I still remember his reaction when I told him I found out I was having a girl...he shook his head, exhaled in a sense of relief and said "Whew thank God for that." He was a very sincere person with multiple attributes that endeared him to us, and we believe his patients, colleagues, family and friends, Rudy, Frank and felines both past and present. I waited and waited and waited...(He obviously was delivering a baby) for 4 hours. He had a great sense of humour and I appreciated his medical advice. Condolences to you all.

Dear Anne, Claire, and Brendan,
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I am so sad that we have lost one of my favourite people. From meeting Phil in residency to having the true pleasure of working with him, it is definitely a quieter place without him. Your family was always so kind to me, and although we did not see each other much these last few years, you were often in my thoughts. I loved Phil's insight and point of view. Neither of us took a straight line in what we did but I think our lives are richer for the detours. My love to you all. Melissa Mirosh

Dr. Browne became my friend after spending over 10 years as my doctor. He's the reason I was able to become a mom, and he was with me for some of the hardest and worst moments of my life, but he was also there for the absolute best moments of my life too. Phil has been a friend since he took an 18 year francophone kid from Manitoba under his wing in September 1977.
My first time away from home and learning about life in general but also college life!
We reconnected around 15 years ago but sadly didn't stay in touch over the last number of years.
