Margaret Ann Brown beloved wife of Darl Brown passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at the age of 69 years.

Margaret Ann Brown beloved wife of Darl Brown passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at the age of 69 years.

Margaret was born in Coaldale on September 2, 1950, to her parents John and Anna Funk. She was raised on her family's farm near Coaldale. As a young girl, she came to faith in Christ for salvation, a faith from which she never wavered. After completion of High School, she attended Bethany Bible Institute and upon graduation began working as a secretary at Lethbridge Community College. It was there that she met her husband Darl who was teaching there and they were married in 1975. They moved to his farm just 7 miles down the road from where she was raised and have resided there for the last 44 years. After 4 years of marriage, they were blessed by the birth of their son Glen and 2 years later by that of their daughter Sheri. When the children were born, Margaret left her job at the college to become a full-time mom, her true calling in life. Operation Christmas Child was a charity close to her heart as she packed many boxes of Christmas gifts each year for needy children around the world. She spent her life in service to her family, friends, church and strangers. The farm yard was always full of lights especially at Christmas. Her many flower gardens were beautiful. She made our house a home. She had a creative gift and talent for writing which she used to compose many poems and create handmade cards for birthdays, anniversaries, bereavements etc. and with the advent of personal computers excelled in digital scrapbooking. When Darl retired they took up the RV lifestyle and were blessed to have spent the last 12 winters in south Texas and travelling extensively throughout the US and Canada. Deep and lasting friendships were formed during this time with their many friends in Texas.

We all felt she had to leave much too soon but our times are in God's hands not ours. Margaret is survived by her husband Darl; son Glen (Hilary), children Quincy and Ivy; daughter Sheri (Peter) Gilbert, children Ryanne, Caden, Jocelyn and Theron; sister Nettie (Henry) Wiens; brothers John Funk and Jake Funk; stepmother Martha Funk; sister-in-law Marilyn (Andy) Zwaagstra, as well as several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents John & Anna Funk, sister Elsie, and her in-laws Andrew & Verna Brown.

Due to the restrictions regarding the Covid-19 virus, a Private Family Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with Interment in the Coaldale Cemetery. A livestream in memory of Margaret may be viewed on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, beginning at 12:30 P.M. The link to watch the service is https://player.streammonkey.co...A Memorial Service will be announced at a future date.

Our dearest friend will be greatly missed. Our memories began 12 years ago at Holiday Out RV park where we were neighbors. Space doesn't permit to write about all our adventures together, but the one thing that brought us together and keep us together was our Faith in our LORD & SAVIOR. We have grown in that faith because of Margaret & Darl.

Bill & Sharon Snydrer, May 3, 2020

Hello Darl and Family, We met you and your wife at the Coaldale Centennial Celebrations and visited with you, Margaret's brother at the Kate Andrews High Reunion. It was a wonderful time of reminiscing about Coaldale, and the people we both knew. I have thought of you often over the winter, and some the challenges that you were facing. Margaret was a source of inspiration for me. May God be your comfort and strength. We didn't realize that Margaret had health issues. So shocked to read her obituary in the Lethbridge Herald.

Dennis & Katie Klassen Harder, Carstairs, AB, May 3, 2020

So sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. It is wonderful to know we haven't "lost her" as we know where she is......in the Presence of the Lord. We sorrow, but not as others "who have no hope". From our perspective she left too soon but we do not see from God's perspective. We are told in 1 Corinthians 13 that one day we will see the the Lord "face to face" and we shall "know as we are known". As Stewart Hamblin wrote - "Until then, my heart will go on singing. Until then, with joy I'll carry on. Until the day my eyes behold the Saviour, until the day God calls me home." Our love and prayers at this time. Robert and Ellen Smith
