James “Jim” E. Brown cherished husband of Priscille Breault Brown passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the age of 76, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in 1935, where he spent his school years and early adulthood. Later he started his long career in the irrigation industry working for the Conservation and Development Branch of the Saskatchewan Government in both Swift Current and Outlook, followed by the BRID in Vauxhall, Alberta and lastly SMRID in Lethbridge, Alberta, where he retired from in 2002. Jim had a passion for irrigation, travelling (which included many memorable vacations and family trips), reading, photography, spending time with his family and technology. He loved good conversation and challenging others on many topics.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Elwin and Anne Brown, his sister, Mavis and brother-in-law, Urbain. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Priscille; his two sons, James (Eileen) and Chris (Connie); grandchildren Justin, Conner and Alyssa and new great granddaughter Zoey; his siblings Barbara (Ben), Bill (Linda) and Linda (Dave); many nieces, nephews and friends as well as the Breault family.
Jim’s family wish to extend their gratitude to the Lethbridge Regional Hospital staff, the palliative care team as well as Blossoms for Hope.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME (2800 Mayor Magrath Drive, Lethbridge AB) at 11:00am on Monday, August 29th, 2011 with Reverend John Kohler officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Jim’s memory may wish to consider the Cancer Society, specifying Lung Research.
