BOLOKOSKI, ANNE

MRS. ANNE BOLOKOSKI (nee Skuban), beloved wife of the late Mr. John Bolokoski of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Centre with her family by her side on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Anne was born on a farm near Arena, Saskatchewan on August 11, 1914. After the passing of her father, she went to work as a young girl at the age of 14. After a couple of years housekeeping, she moved to Lethbridge and met her husband John Bolokoski in 1934. They married in October of 1936 and moved to the farm in Warner in March of 1943 where they farmed until the sudden passing of John in January, 1977. Anne moved into Warner and lived there until January 1998. She then lived at the Prairie Rose Lodge in Milk River and has spent the last five years at the Edith Cavell Care Centre. While living on the farm, Anne belonged to Royal Purple, Lionettes and the East Neighbourhood Club. Anne and John enjoyed farm life as well as fishing, playing cards, bowling and dancing. She also liked to sew, knit, crochet and needlepoint. Anne's family meant everything to her and she was a proud grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Beverley (Richard) Dunn, Bryan (Elaine) Bolokoski and Truus Bolokoski, grandchildren; Glenn Selk, Kelly Stubbert and Lori Glass of Grande Prairie and Kim (Marion) Selk of Lethbridge. Trent (Cyndi) Bolokoski of Warner and Jill (Jeff) Rowden of Prince Albert, SK, Drew Bolokoski of Osoyoos, B.C. and Dee Bolokoski of Lethbridge, great grandchildren; Jonathan, David and Tyler Anne Bolokoski of Warner, Alexi and Mason Rowden of Prince Albert, SK, Justin Selk of Lethbridge and Brooke Stubbert of Grande Prairie, sisters Mabel (Melford) Korsberg of Lethbridge and Elsie Nygaard of Brooks, AB, sisters-in-law Mary Skuban of Brooks, AB and Margaret Skuban of Medicine Hat, AB as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband John in January, 1977 and her beloved son Marvin in March , 1998. A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Cathy Coates officiating. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
