Waylon loved life. He was talented, determined and motivated. He began his life singing with the Old Agency drum group at the age of 9, standing by his grandpa Dan's side. In his later life, he began to rodeo as a bareback rider. Rodeo was his passion and he travelled the circuit with so many young cowboys. In his spare time, he would play recreation hockey with his uncles, always travelling to Magrath to play. On weekends, Waylon and his brothers often played ground hockey with the neighbourhood boys. Waylon found his passion in policing, graduating from the Alberta Solicitor General College and then working with Blood Tribe Police.

On November 22, 1991, Waylon welcomed into the world his oldest son Logan and then again on July 6, 2006, Waylon welcomed his second son Sloan. His sons were his pride and joy. He loved and cherished his boys. He prayed for them each and every day. They were always in his heart.

His career soon led him to work with CP Rail and Brinks. Waylon went back to Blood Tribe Police as a dispatcher to help his community. He received one of the highest honours from the Alberta Solicitor General for saving a life, an honour he held close to his heart. During the whole duration of Waylon's life, he was devoted to serving God. In all things Waylon did, God came first. Waylon was an example of a strong Christian man, devoting his life to singing praises of worship.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM. with Pastor Dan Kees officiating. The service will be live streamed and may be accessed via Waylon's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
