BLAIR, KENNETH HENRY

KEN (KENNETH) BLAIR went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the age of 79 years. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Ken was born in Hanna, AB on August 18, 1930. Left to mourn are; Ken’s life friend and companion, Josephine “Dixie”; his 5 children: Kirk (Sherry), Wendy (Randy) Kroeker, Boyd (Julie), Richard (April) and Shannon Talerico; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; brother Bob; extended family Brian (Lorraine), Muriel (Dieter), Dennis and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Cora and brothers Archibald and Jim.

Ken always helped his parents on their farm for many years in Picture Butte. For 37 years he worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas Co. in a supervisory position. He loved the boys that worked for and with him. He was an avid gardener and everyone loved his prize tomatoes. He also had a knack for making good pie crusts. There was a ritual that Ken started approximately one year before his passing and this will always be remembered and cherished by his companion “Dixie”. The song “You Are My Sunshine” was sung by Ken every night, non fail, no matter how much or little strength he had, until his time of passing.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Barry Seifert officiating.
