BLACKMER, AGNES

THELMA BLACKMER, beloved wife of the late Jim Blackmer, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side. in Milk River, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jim, one son, James Jr., and two grandsons, Paul & Kevin. Thelma is survived by her children, Raymond (Joyce) Blackmer of Milk River, Linda (David) Belisle of Lethbridge, Peggy (Randy) Plomp of Calgary, Dave Blackmer (Charlene) of Coutts, Tom (Linda) Blackmer of Medicine Hat, Kim (Rob) St. Peter of Medicine Hat, Michael (Noreen) Blackmer. Also survived to cherish her memory are 23 grandchildren & 27 great-grandchildren. Thelma loved to travel and enjoyed her many trips with friends and family. Her love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her. Thelma was born in a little old farmhouse 5 miles S.W. of Milk River on July 7, 1924. She was raised, educated and married in the area. Thelma considered raising her family of 8 one of her greatest accomplishments. Despite being busy raising her children she always found time for friends, community and church. She truly believed a family that prays together stays together. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Thelma was the definition of true compassion and love. A Prayer Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB, on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dominic Nguyen celebrant. A reception will follow at the church hall. Private interment to be held in the Coutts Cemetery.
