BILL ROYCROFT, beloved husband of Barbara of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the age of 60 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by: brother Fred Roycroft (Betty) of Port Coquitlam, B.C. and family Jason, Joel, Erin, Brendon, Dayman and Michelle; Barb’s family, her father Hub Winter of Calgary, brother Bob Winter (Ruth), sister Joni Winter of Calgary, and her family; Sara (Chris) and their son Micha, Rosie (Sylla) and their sons Isaiah and Benjamin of Calgary, and close friends Connie Eddy and Dichoy Dong of Lethbridge and Amy Unger of Coaldale and on and on.
He was predeceased by parents Tom and Anne Roycroft. Bill was born May 8, 1949 in Lethbridge. After graduating from L.C.I., he worked with the Department of Agriculture as a weather technician. In 1967 Bill was ordained by his father and continued working at the Lethbridge Christian Tabernacle with teens and Bow Valley Mission Camp. In 1968 he travelled down to Oklahoma and Texas where he opened a coffee house. He helped many find the Lord, and some went on to be missionaries and ministers. Every 6 months Bill would return to Lethbridge to continue his work here with his father.
When Bill’s father, Tom had passed away, Bill became the minister in 1981. Bill worked for Bow Valley Mission Camp in the Canmore location and the new location in the Crowsnest Pass, Island Lake Conference Centre.
In 1995 Bill, Barb and teens began yearly trips to Juarez, Mexico during Easter Break to build a home for a poor family. Bill enjoyed sharing time and laughter with friends over a coffee, encouraging people’s hearts. Countless people have enjoyed his sermons and they still can be heard online at www.lctab.org.
A Celebration of Life will be held at RIVER OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2820 - 18th Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. William Calderwood and Hainds Laird, officiating.
