Melvin was born on June 10, 1953 in Cardston, Alberta. He will be remembered for his humour and kindness. He doted on his grandkids, who he loved dearly. Melvin loved cooking, caring for his plants and sports. His favourite team was the Calgary Flames. A highlight of his life was going to the I.N.F.R. Finals with Ross Black Water. Legend has it that when Nazareth, the rock band, was invited to perform in Lethbridge at what was then known as the Sportsplex, Melvin created a stir in the crowd. He leaped on stage and grabbed the hat off of the lead singer’s head. On another occasion he fooled a taxi driver into giving him a free ride by saying he was Freddy Fender, all because he didn’t have the money to pay the driver. These are only a few hilarious moments in a life filled with laughter.

Melvin will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Wake Service will be held at the OLD SAIPOYI SCHOOL GYMNASIUM, Standoff, AB., on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:00 - 11:00 P.M.
