BETTY FRIG

BETTY FRIG (NEE PITT), loving wife of E.W. Roy Frig of Lethbridge and mother of Len (Dyane) Frig of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Besides her loving husband E.W. Roy Frig, Betty is survived by son Len (Dyane) Frig and their children Heather (Brian) Reche and Krystal as well as great granddaughter Kylie of Salt Lake City, Utah. Betty is also survived by a sister Lil Hegland of Lethbridge, brothers Bill (Kay) Pitt and Clarence Pitt of Calgary, sisters-in-law Betty Pitt of Coleman and Marlene (Dean) Phillips of Atlanta, Georgia, brother-in-law Jerald (Dorothy) Frig of Vancouver, B.C. and all their families. She was a special ‘Auntie’ to neices and nephews in Calgary, children of sister Dorothy. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Dora-Ann, sisters Kath (Louie) Poch and Dorothy (Bob) Welsh and as well her brothers Alfie Pitt and Ceril (Tina) Pitt. Betty was affectionately known as ‘George’ by Lil’s family and ‘Old Girl’ by her husband E.W. ‘Roy’ (also known as ‘Old Boy’ by Betty). She had a warm greeting for all her nieces and nephews even though she didn’t see some of them very often; you know who you are. Betty had a special place in her heart for her son Len but was unable to spend as much time with him and his wife Dyane as she would have liked. She had a great love for her grandchildren Heather and Krystal and her beautiful great granddaughter Kylie. The love was always felt even though they were many miles away. She will also be missed by the special girls across the street who called her Maw, a wide group of young people around Alberta and B.C, many who also called her Maw. Betty always seemed to have an extra bean in the pot at meal time and a bed downstairs for everyone from out of town. She will be known to members of the Labor Club, Miners Library and patrons of the Centre Village Mall and north side Dairy Queen for her boisterous and friendly ways. The family would like to thank the staff at the Cancer Clinic, the 4th floor nursing staff and all others who were there for them. A Celebration of Life will be held at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, 324 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. A private family Interment will precede the service.
