MARY BESAW, beloved wife of the late Walter Besaw, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, in Lethbridge, on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her sister Mildred (Clarence) White; her sons Walter (Geraldine); Leonard (Chris); David (Dorothea); Robert (Mary); Ron (Helene); John (Margaret); Francis and Gerard (Joan) and daughter Theresa (Peter) Heffernan; twenty-nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, two sisters, eight brothers and daughter-in-law Diane. Faith and family were foundation stones of Mary’s life. She had a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and passed her Catholic faith on to her children. Mary had a full and successful career as a teacher in Newfoundland, prior to her retirement during which she travelled extensively in Canada and abroad, settling ultimately in Alberta, where several of her children reside. She will be remembered fondly by all of her family and the many friends she cherished from her Newfoundland and Alberta years alike. A Prayer Service will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge on April 29, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. with Sharon Hagel officiating, A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge on April 30, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend John Kohler, celebrant.
