BERNARD WEHLAGE

BERNARD G. WEHLAGE of Milk River, AB, passed away at the Milk River Hospital on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Ben is survived by two brothers Edwin (Yvonne) Wehlage and Elmer (Marjorie) Wehlage, both of Milk River, AB. and his sister - in - law Marie Wehlage of Lethbridge, AB. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his parents Anton and Anna Wehlage, two brothers Arthur and Albert (Olive) Wehlage, and his sister Hilda (Frances) Belisle. Ben was born in Ogema, Minnesota on October 7, 1917, going to school at White Earth until the age of 13. With his family, Ben then immigrated to Allerston, AB. on October 30, 1930, going to school for one year at the Allerston School. From that point he continued to farm with his father until 1948, when he decided to farm on his own. Ben was a dedicated farmer, farming right up until 2006. Following that he then moved into the Prairie Rose Lodge. Ben was a very quiet, talented and meticulous man. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A prayer service will be held at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 main street, Milk River, AB., on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. with Fr. Joseph T. Kalathiparambil officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 main street, Milk River, AB., on Wednesday June 10th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Joseph T. Kalathiparambil officiating. Interment to follow at Allerston cemetery.
