With deepest sorrow, the family of LENORA EVELYN BERENT (DAHL) announce her passing on the morning of Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the age of 98 years.
Lenora and her husband would have celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2010.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward J. (Pat) Berent, 6 children; Fay (Bob) Whitlock, Don (Lucille) Berent, Loretta (Ross) Lyon, Gerald (Kathy) Berent, Deanna (Don) Niemetz, Darrell (Patty) Berent, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Lenora is also survived by 3 sisters; Irene Cutforth, Jean (Ed) Cochlan, Joan (Norm) Grandel, 3 brothers; Norman (Donna) Dahl, Raymond Dahl, Myron (Marie) Dahl, 1 brother in law Harold Cutting, 1 sister in law Agnes Berent, along with many nieces and nephews.
Lenora was predeceased by 2 sisters; Mildred Cutforth and Marion Cutting and one brother Manfred Dahl.
Lenora’s life was one of hard work, deep love and dedication. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses her heartfelt desire was to help as many as possible to see the importance of looking to the scriptures for direction and to share the future promises that she anticipated.
Lenora’s family share the hope she had of a resurrection back to earth to be with her loved ones again. Her family’s deep love and appreciation was seen in their being there for her in the final few days of her life. They will be overjoyed to welcome her back to a peaceful earth where her zest for life and all that it offers will come to fruition. We can’t wait to see that smiling face, that twinkle in her eye and we will never forget “the look” that told us kids to smarten up.
We were so blessed to have such a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME 2800, Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Joe Wickenheiser officiating.
