Carol was born in Hamilton, ON before moving to Calgary with her family at the age of 10. She had her first son, Stephen, when she was just 17 years old and less than two years later she had her second son, Johnny. Carol became an LPN and got a job at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, all while raising her two boys.
When she was around 27 years old, her two uncles came from Assiniboia, SK with a pair of three-ton grain trucks to move her and the two boys to their farm near Congress, SK. Carol then got a job as an assistant with the local veterinarian. Soon after, Carol moved to Assiniboia, SK where she married and had her third son, Bob Beaton.
Ten years later, she followed Johnny and Steve to Lethbridge where she established her permanent home. From being the perfect hockey mom to Bob, to a support team to Johnny and Steve, the family set up their strong roots in the southern Alberta area.
