AVIS MARGUERITE BATTY, with her family by her side, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital just as the sun was rising on Sunday, August 1, 2010; she was 93 years old.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Orvel in 1988, infant son David in 1947, her parents William and Eleanor Crawford and her sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Colin Caswell, Avis is survived by her daughter and best friend Carol and devoted son-in-law Jack Ramsay, her sister-in-law Melba Batty of Assiniboia, SK., Audrey’s 5 children and their families as well as 7 nieces and nephews on Orvel’s side of the family.

Mom will be sadly missed by her family and friends.  Her beautiful smile and kind but determined nature drew people to her side.  Avis became the "adopted" Mom and Grandma to many, which shows how much she was loved.

Honouring Avis's request, there will not be a funeral; a family interment will occur at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, 960-19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 1W5, would be greatly appreciated.
