Barry Lodermeier
1954 – 2026
Over the years, Barry worked at Roydale in Milk River, spent time at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, and later became an independent owner-operator in the trucking industry. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.

As much as Barry loved to work hard, taking on huge projects on his home near the Gladstone mountain range, he could also be found bird watching, bear watching, and enjoying all the other critters that roamed around. The chipmunks and squirrels gave him equal amounts of enjoyment and frustration as they hogged the bird feeders. His strong bond with the multitude of cats… that didn’t have 9 lives, needed more time to strengthen. He enjoyed hunting and teaching his grandkids how to target shoot. He shared his love of all these things with his family and friends when they came out and spent time each summer camping.
He especially treasured watching his grandkids grow and excel in their crazy sporting activities, such as bull fighting and steer riding. He coached baseball and prided himself in passing down all his knowledge on how to cheat at crib. What he did not enjoy, is getting beat at Sequence by his grandkids.
Barry is lovingly remembered by his children, Jill (Mark) and Wade (Alison). He was a proud grandfather to Trevor (Crystal), Jace (Jaiden), Easton, Levi, Avaya, and Paisley, and a delighted great-grandfather to Kennedy.
He is also survived by his siblings: Gail and Brian Stickel; Roger and Vicki Lodermeier; Debbie and Rick Steyh; Rhonda Swanson and Rick Dixon; Lana and Larry Barton, many nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Barry will be remembered for his amazing hugs, easy going laughs and contagious smile, his dedication to family, and the steady presence he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and in the many memories made in the mountains he loved so much.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

My condolences to the Lodermeier family. Was going to catch up on old times with Barry once he moved back into the area and got settled. Never got the chance. Beautiful obituary that described him perfectly. He will always be smiling down on you and in your heart.
Angela and I would like to extend our condolences to the entire Lodermeier family on the passing of Barry. It is always sad when a person passes away, but it is felt closer to home when it is a cousin.
