This is a very sad time. James was taken from us far too soon. He had passed away in his sleep due to a Health-Related Issue that was unknown to both James and us on Friday, May 28, 2021.
He will be dearly missed and is survived by his mother Brenda (Oriano Delbello), Sister Brianna, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He was predeceased by his Father, Ronald James Baldrey, his grandparents, Larry and Laura Hendrickson and James William (Slim), and (his favorite) Dorothy Baldrey and his Aunt, Sharon Hendrickson.
James was born and completed all his schooling in Lethbridge, Alberta. Growing up James was always eager to have a knock on the door from neighborhood friends to come out to play. It did not matter what time of day or what you wanted to play. It could have been driveway hockey, shoot hoops, build a snowman or igloo. It didn't matter whether you were a boy or girl, or how old you were. He never declined an invitation even as he got older. Throughout James' life, he loved playing and watching many sports, especially lacrosse, soccer, football, basketball and golf.
James was generous and considerate of others. He would offer what little money he had to someone he felt needed it more, and it did not matter whether he knew them or not. Although he struggled with many things in life, some things that did not change were his sense of humour, generosity and thirst for knowledge.
For those who wish, memorial donations in James' name may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Cancer Society and Heart or Stroke Foundation.
If you have a favourite memory, funny story, or even a picture you would like to share, please email it to RememberingJamesBaldrey@hotmail.com.
We will compile these together and have a "Walk Down Memory Lane" in the future so they can all be shared. Thanks.
James will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery on Monday, June 7th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Due to Covid restrictions, the service will be private. For those who wish, the service will be live-streamed, and can be accessed on James' obituary.
