Mary Louise BACZUK passed away on JUNE 7th 2010 after a long courageous battle with kidney disease.
She is predeceased by her parents George and Sarafima ANDREKSON, brother Alex ANDREKSON, sister Lydia WOLLOSCHUK, father-in-law Andrew BACZUK, mother-in-law Elizabeth BACZUK, as well as numerous other close relatives.
Mary is survived by husband Leslie BACZUK, son Terry BACZUK of Medicine Hat, daughters Mona ELLIOTT of Calgary and Donna RUCKER of Milk River. Brother George (Joan) ANDREKSON of Medicine Hat, as well as four grandchildren Eric BACZUK, Clay RUCKER, Tucker RUCKER, and Cody ELLIOTT.
A love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her.
Mary accomplished much in her life including becoming a school teacher and raising three children. A compassionate, thoughtful, and honourable woman who loved her family. Her quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity, and sense of humour will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her life was a definition of true compassion and love.
Mary Louise Andrekson was born in Lethbridge August 8th 1931. After graduating high school in Barons she followed her desires of becoming a school teacher and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1951. While teaching in Warner she met Leslie BACZUK and they were wed on June 19th 1956. Mary and Les resided at the BACZUK family farm west of Milk River until 1988. At that time they moved to Milk River where Mary resided until the time of her passing.
She was an active member of the Royal Purple for many years as well as a long time school teacher and librarian. Mary had a passion in life for family, home and gardening. She was always the number one cheerleader at her grandsons’ sporting events. Mary will be greatly missed by all the lives that she had touched.
A Private Family Service was held in Milk River, AB., on Monday, June 14, 2010 with Reverend Mary Young officiating.
