MR. CLARENCE PAUL AUDET has gone to be with his sunshine Mrs. Kathleen Audet (nee Boudreau). He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Milk River Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Clarence met Kay on Valentine's Day in 1941 at the Last Sands Ranch and they were married for 66 wonderful years. Clarence was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on July 26, 1916 but called the Masinasin area his home. At the age of 16 he took over the family farm, where he ranched and raised a family for many years. Clarence is survived by his children; Lorrie Howe, Roy (Chris) Audet, Diann (Moe) Bissonnette and Annette Audet- Johansen; grandchildren Brie (Bert) Seidel, Daniel (Kristin), Adrian (Heather) and Jesse Audet, Dana, Greg, Amber, Ashley, Sara and Beau Johansen; as well as great-granddaughters Sophia and Chloe Johansen. Clarence had a love of sports, winning the medal for all-around sportsman in high school. Community was also very important to Clarence, and together with his neighbours helped create what is now known as Writing on Stone Provincial Park. Clarence was renowned for his practical jokes and sense of humour. A visit always entailed games, laughter and food (especially sweets) and anyone was welcome at a moment's notice. Hobbies included snowmobiling, cards & dice, and daytrips for picnics or fairs. After moving to Milk River his hobbies expanded to include cheering at the local sports events, coffee shop gossip and trips to the "office" (the pool hall). Clarence was a true friend and neighbour to all who met him and he will be dearly missed. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dominic H. Nguyen, Celebrant.
