Arnold Bodie
1940 – 2024
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by their son Curtis (Jackie) Bodie and their children: Mathew and Zaden; and daughter Carla (Terry) Palmer and their children: Brock and Brooklyn. He is also survived by two sisters: Pauline Bodie and Lily Erdos, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Alexander Sr. and Florence; sisters: Josie and Elaine; and brother Alexander Jr.
Arnold was the youngest of the Bodie siblings and was born in Lethbridge on July 3, 1940 to Alex and Flora Bodie Sr.
He was raised on a farm outside of Coaldale and married Clara Huber in 1967. They were married for 44 years and enjoyed raising their children on the family farm. Arnold was the happiest on the farm and lived on the homestead for over 72 years.
Arnold also enjoyed golfing, curling, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Kinsmen clubs, and traveling with family and friends, as well as spending time with their grandchildren.
His love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Peter Lilienthal officiating. The Prayer Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Arnold’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1513 – 23 Avenue, Coaldale, AB, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Ian Gagne celebrating.
Arnold will be laid to rest in the Coaldale Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AHS Coaldale Health Centre – Long Term Care, c/o CRH Foundation (crhfoundation.ca) by clicking “General Donation, designation “Other”, then list “Coaldale Health Centre LTC”.

We just heard of Arnie’s passing. Our deepest condolences from the “Owen” family. Arnie was such a gentle man and a huge part of our family. He will always be in our hearts with many great memories and laughs. Sending love & hugs

Dear Carla, Terry, Brock, Brooklyn, Curtis, Jackie, Mathew, Zaden, Pauline and Lil, So many memories, so many special times together!- 4H activities and lots of laughs and comaradarie with kids and parents - K of C curling trip in the van and stopping at Scarlet and Gold and being the impromptu entertainers for the evening -Camp Columbus, Arnie was in charge of ordering the t-shirts and sweat shirts (we all have several of these) - Camp clean up was a guy's weekend with several of the knights along with Gibson's finest and Glenfiddich- family ski trips to Whitefish every February, sharing the large home accommodations, and who could forget the utensil pasta night - Christmas tree cutting, fireside singing, lots of food and trucks full of trees (a few Charlie Browns) - progressive suppers to see our decorated trees - curling at the Coaldale rink and the card games after with the Readymade locals - board games around the kitchen table, storytelling and lots of laughter - lobster feasts at the farm in June - the large manicured yard , Arnie's rain barrel, his woodworking projects - banquets - weddings -40 years of so many memories! I've missed Arnie's emails with the joke of the day and our visits these last few years. Arnie was a little brother to his sisters, and a big brother to me. And a special friend to all of our family. Rest in peace Arnie. Clara is waiting for you. Give her a hug from me. Virginia and all the Wauters clan!

So sorry to hear about the passing of Arnold. Was a good friend of mine in JHS and HS. He was a great dancer and we won some jive contests together. May he rest in peace!!
