Born on June 2, 1936, in Sundial, Alberta, Arlene was the youngest of eight siblings. Growing up, she always embraced her Norwegian heritage with pride. On December 9, 1955, she married the love of her life, William Tolley, and together they created a lifetime of cherished memories. They were married 54 years, William passed away in 2009.

Family meant everything to Arlene. She is survived by her loving children: Sandra Hagel of Lethbridge, Brenda Simpson (Steve) of Lethbridge, and Greg Tolley (Alison) of Claresholm. Arlene was a devoted grandmother and great-grand mother to Michael Hagel (Quinn) and children Owen, Ava, and Ellie Hagel, Megan Park (Nick) and their child Maverick Park, Corey Person (Vanessa) and children Olivia and Jaxon Persson, Sydney Tolley (Justin), and Lyndsey Tolley (Ryley). She was pre-deceased by grandchildren Christopher Persson, Jenna Hagel.

Arlene’s life revolved around her family. She spent countless hours nurturing and supporting her loved ones, always putting their needs first. Her home was a welcoming place where everyone felt cherished and loved. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a casual family dinner, playing cards, or just a cup of coffee and conversation, Arlene’s warmth and hospitality made everyone feel special.

Arlene’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond with her family.

Arlene is survived by her siblings: Erling Odland, Pauline Claeys, sister-in-law Joyce Odland, brother-in-law Gordon Long and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband Bill Tolley, Arlene was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Sam (Shirley) Odland, Johanna (Mag) Severtson, Alfred (Faye) Odland, Christie (Lloyd) Hagen, brother-in-law Ken (Edna) Tolley and sister-in-law Beulah Long.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held to honor her memory, where Arlene and Bill will be laid to rest together at Mountain View Cemetery.
