It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of JEFFREY EDWIN ANHELHER, of Lethbridge, formerly of Fort McMurray, at the St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the age of 63 years. It is also with great gladness we share that Jeff knew the Lord Jesus so we know he is safe in the arms of his Saviour.
Jeff is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cathie; his daughter Rachel Anhelher (Jonny) and granddaughter Gibson; son Wesley Anhelher; Cathie's daughter Leslie Jorgensen (Denny) and grandchildren Diesel, Racey, and Cruz, mother Ruby May Anhelher; sister Kathy (Larry) Nielson and their children, Gloria (Ron) Audenaert, Brian (Charlotte) Nielsen, Daniel (Darla) Nielsen and Calvin (Katherine) Nielsen; sister Shirley (Joey) Sanders and their children Derek (Ika) Kleinschroth, Des (Collene) Kleinschroth and Doug (Janine) Kleinschroth; sister Anne (Martin) Perry and their children, Tyler (Victoria) Perry and Mason (Tanya) Perry; sister Teresa (Manuel) Frois and their son Anthony (Sandra) Frois; and brothers Mike (Gwen) and Robert Anhelher.
He was predeceased by his father, Anton Anhelher.
Jeff worked in various roles as a Millwright for Syncrude Canada for over 25 years. He was also a committed community member, serving in many capacities at the Legion, including a term as President and as a faithful Remembrance Day contributor. Jeff was a dedicated fan of the performing arts and became a Keyano College Theatre Angel. His generous nature also gave way to financially assist many causes including the Canadian Liver Foundation, the War Amps, the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation, the Living Waters Ministry and Friends of Canadian Broadcasting.
Jeff was a man of many interests including music, motorcycles, riding different roads, carpentry, artwork (especially Native Art) and in recent years, his pursuit of God's word and will.
He will be remembered by his family and friends for his good sense of humour, unwavering loyalty, generosity of spirit, immense kindness, acceptance of others, and his easy going nature. He found his utmost pleasure in showing how much he loved and appreciated them.
Jeff was usually spotted with a toothpick. He loved to talk with people; friend or stranger, he would visit with you. Jeff maintained lifelong friendships and made new friends everywhere he went.
A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, August 28th, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Trevor Steeves and Ken Kissick officiating.
