MIKE ANGYAL, of Milk River, beloved husband of Marion Angyal, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25th, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marion; his six daughters: Valerie (Les) Kurtos, Gail (Barry) Thielen, Brenda Angyal, Cindy (Wayne) Coutts, Cheryl (Blair) Schnuth, and Jeanette (George) Cook; his grandchildren: April and James Blackmer, Brandon and Kendra Thielen, Jasen and Carri-Ann Hansen, Candace Coutts, and Samantha and JoAnne Cook; his great-grandchildren: Kage, Barrett, Hayden and Dane Hansen; his brother Steve (Helen) Angyal; his sister-in-law Ada Emard; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his step grandchildren and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Mary Angyal and his sister Mary Bunyack. Mike was born in Rakaca, Hungary, on Sept. 25, 1923. The following year his family moved to Canada to farm west of Milk River. In 1951 he married Marion Miller. Together they farmed east of Milk River, owned a vehicle dealership, and later set up an electrical business. Mike spent his "free" time designing and building houses for his family as well as working on inventions. For many years, Mike played contract bridge and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Border Ham Radio Club. Though he and Marion enjoyed spending their summers at the cabin they built on Echo Lake and their winters as "snowbirds", they were always happiest at home close to their family who will miss him deeply. Relatives and Friends are invited to Prayer Services at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321-Main Street, Milk River, AB on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dominic H. Nguyen, Celebrant. A reception will follow at the church and a private family interment will then follow at the Milk River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Mike's memory be made to St. Peter's Parish in Milk River.
