MARION FRANCES ANGYAL, of Milk River, beloved wife of the late Mike Angyal, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Legacy Lodge on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the age of 88 years.
Marion is survived by her six daughters: Valerie (Les) Kurtos, Gail (Barry) Thielen, Brenda Angyal, Cindy (Wayne) Coutts, Cheryl (Blair) Schnuth, and Jeanette (George) Cook; her grandchildren: April and James Blackmer, Brandon Thielen and Kendra (Rick) Deobald, Jasen and Carri-Ann Hansen, Candace (Mark) Dickson, Samantha Somma and JoAnne Cook; her great-grandchildren: Kage, Barrett, Hayden and Dane Hansen; Savannah and Lincoln Deobald, Magnus Dickson; Abbigail and Jaxen Somma; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her step grandchildren and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Mike Angyal Jr.; parents Irving and Barbara Miller; her siblings Elmer Miller, Linda Johnston, Irene Thielen, Ada Emard, and Raymond Miller.
Marion was born in Calgary on February 6, 1929. At the age of three, she moved with her family to a farm in the Masinasin area. In 1951, she married Mike Angyal, Jr. Together they farmed east of Milk River, owned a vehicle dealership, and later set up an electrical business. Marion loved to sew for her six daughters, her grandchildren as well as enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch and ceramics. Her family have many cherished crafts made with love by her hands.
For many years, Marion played contract bridge and was an active member of the Catholic Women's League and the Border Ham Radio Club. Though she and Mike enjoyed spending their summers at the cabin they built on Echo Lake and their winters as "snowbirds", they were always happiest at home close to their family who will miss her deeply.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a Prayer Service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Michael Pollard officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street N.W., Milk River, AB, on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Roque Pereira, Celebrant. A reception will follow at the church hall.
Marion will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Milk River Cemetery during a Private Family Graveside.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Marion's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Society, 740 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0N9.
