ROSS ALBERT ALLSOP, beloved husband of Pauline Allsop of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at the age of 58 years. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his children, Emily and Casey of Lethbridge, his mother Vera Wheeldon of Lethbridge, his brother Darryl (Kathy) of Burmis, his sister Dorothy (Barry) of Leduc, his sister Barb (John) of Lethbridge. He is also survived by his step-mother Freda Allsop of Lethbridge and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Albert Allsop and his step-father Robin Wheeldon. Ross was born and raised in Lethbridge. After a brief period of living and working in various cities across Canada and the US he returned to Lethbridge and worked for his step-father at R&W Express. When R&W Express was bought by Rosenau Transport, Ross remained with the company for the remainder of his years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and hunting. Ross was very proud of his children and their achievements. Ross was a sports fan and proudly supported his son at all his football, rugby, and basketball games. He was equally proud of his daughter when she graduated with two undergraduate degrees from the University of Lethbridge, both with distinction. He admired his wife's spunk and creativity, and was grateful for her exceptional sewing skills. Ross loved music, especially Rock & Roll which all the family enjoyed while playing ping pong. One of his favourite companions was his dog, Lexi, by who he will be greatly missed. Ross will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. A drop-in reception will be held downstairs at EAGLES HALL (631 - 13 Street North) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS Air Ambulance.
