Date of Service: April 18, 2024

Our sweet mother WILLEMYNTJE (MEINY) VELDHUIZEN passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the age of 90 to meet her Lord and Savior.

She was a gentle, kind, loving mother who shared her love and her life with her husband Evert and their children: Jennie (Gill) Hakze, William (Wendy) Veldhuizen, Arie (Rhea Thur) Veldhuizen, Mayda (Lenn) Rollingson and Evelyn (Tim) Donkersgoed. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father Willem, her mother Metje, husband Evert, her daughter Mayda, her grandson Brian and son-in-law Len. She was also predeceased by her brothers and one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law: Henk, John, Tony & Mary Ann and Henry Vanden Brink, and her brother-in-law Ted Bouwman. She is survived by her sister Hennie Bouwman, sister-in-law Rose Vanden Brink and Bill (Tami) Vanden Brink.

Meiny was born July 25, 1933 and lived in Stoutenburg – a small village in Utrecht, Netherlands. Growing up she wanted to become a seamstress. Sewing was a strong passion and talent of hers. She immigrated to Canada after she got married and raised a family of five children and helped on the farm. Meiny loved to garden, cook/make preserves, sew, crochet, knit, and attend church & serve the Lord.

She loved being with family and friends, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored and warmed her heart! Meiny had a wonderfully soft personality. Her quiet courage, strength in spirit, and her sense of humour that she had at times would be carried forward to those who knew her and loved her and she will be dearly missed by all.
