April 10, 2024

Date of Service: April 19, 2024

KATHERINE LUCILLE WILSON, of Lethbridge, AB, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the age of 61 years.

Katherine is the loving mother of Darwin Douglas Wilson, Mariah Michelle Christensen, Jacob Nathaniel Christensen, Izabella-Emma Mary Wilson and Abigail Estella Wilson, all of Lethbridge.

She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Walsh Wilson and sister, Cheryl Lynn Broughton.

Born and raised in Bella Coola, BC, Mom was known to be quit the talker, nicknamed “Chatty Kathy” by friends and family. In her off time, she enjoyed writing stories, going for long walks, and she was very much into gymnastics as a kid. She was known to be very decorative during festive seasons and was passionate towards baking and cooking.

Katherine was an incredible mother, who was faithful in the church and always believed that everything happens for a purpose. She was strong emotionally and never once complained about her circumstance. Even despite a long and difficult 15 years on hemodialysis, she firmly remained steadfast and immoveable, always smiling and looking for ways to put her children first. Despite being a single mother with financial and health hardships, she made sure to provide her children with the best lives possible.

Kathy was known to have a funny love for cows, and collected lots of cow-like items to decorate her home. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was always smiling and laughing. Her faith in God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ kept her always so hopeful and at peace, even during the most difficult trials in life, right up to her passing.

The example she has set for her children will always be remembered and emulated.

Relatives and friends are invited to come and meet with the family at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 2213 6A Avenue North, Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 A.M with Bishop Lee Brewerton officiating.
