Arthur "Art" Anthony Klein
1933-2026
Surrounded by love and held in the hearts of his family, Arthur Anthony Klein passed away on April 30, 2026, in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 92. Though we grieve deeply, we also carry immense gratitude for the long, full life he shared with us.
Art’s story began on September 6, 1933, in Marcelin, Saskatchewan. Life asked a lot of him early on — he lost his mother at the age of four, and grew up alongside six siblings under the steady, hardworking hands of his blacksmith father. Those early years shaped the man he became: resilient, humble, and quietly strong.
In 1955, Art married his sweetheart, Doris, the love of his life. Together they built a warm, lively home and raised four children: Linda (Yves) Brunet, Glen (Nicky) Klein, Michael (Ronda) Klein, and Brian (Frances) Klein. Their family grew into a beautiful legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren, each one touched by his gentle presence, his steady support, and the warmth of his smile.
Art spent more than 37 years as an automotive painter at Beny Chev Olds, a craft he took pride in. He retired at 55, then continued serving his community at St. Mary’s Church in Red Deer until he retired again at 60. After Doris passed in 2017, he moved to Lethbridge, where he found new purpose in volunteering at the Mission and at Grandview Village. Whether he was helping recycle bottles or offering a kind word, he gave of himself in quiet, meaningful ways.
He loved working with his hands, and his beautiful intarsia pieces — carefully crafted from different woods — remain a reflection of his patience, creativity, and care. He proved himself, time and again, to be an honest, hardworking man with kindness at his core.
Art was predeceased by his beloved wife Doris; his sisters Helen and Lil; his brothers Chuck and Bernie; and his granddaughter Teagan. He is survived by his brother Herb, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
Those who knew him will never forget his warm smile and loving spirit. In our sorrow, we find comfort in knowing he has been called home by his Heavenly Father.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH – 2405 12 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Father Santiago Torres Celebrating.

my condolences to Linda, Glenn, Mike and Brian. I remember when art would help us with our questions regarding scratches or dense to our vehicles when we first acquired them. He was very helpful with tips and ways to make our teen machines look better or to repair some damage to our car.
While I didn't know Art personally his son Mike and I are good friends and colleagues. Over the last little while when Art was ill Mike shared many stories about his Dad and I will always remember the picture of him outside the hospital on a sunny day with his family surrounding him and a big smile on his face. My wife Monica and I are so sorry for your loss and wish the whole family our condolences.
