Nathan believes God brought him to work in the funeral industry to help families and provide support to them during the time of loss of their loved one stating he “can be a friend when you need a friend.” He has a natural ability to be calming in stressful situations and to listen intently to the needs of families who are grieving.
Nathan has lived in Lethbridge all of his life and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 2008. He began working at Cornerstone in 2010 and became a licensed Funeral Director in June of 2015. Having parents in the ministerial field has assisted Nathan to identify with the grieving process and providing dignified spiritual services.
His musical background is an asset, as he is a trumpet player and has played for veteran funerals and Remembrance Day Ceremonies. Nathan’s computer skills are also greatly appreciated in helping families create memorial tribute videos and running slide shows.
The summer of 2013 was an exciting time for Nathan as he married Katie Overbeeke. Katie is a Red Seal Chef and is the Executive Chef at Elim Village. Nathan is very proud of Katie who was awarded the top Alberta apprentice chef in 2012. Nathan has a keen interest in camping and rock climbing and hopes to have many great adventures back-country camping with Katie.
