Al began working as a Funeral Attendant with Christensen Salmon in 1982 where he also met the Zenter’s for the 1st time. Al has a heart of gold and is very supportive. He really enjoys caring for families and supporting this community. Al was born in Coaldale so also appreciates the opportunity to help with services there as well.
Al’s life has taken him from Alberta to BC and back to Lethbridge in 1982. He has worked as a long haul trucker for much of his career and still drives gravel truck part-time. He has also been a bee keeper and log ferrier. Al always liked the change from being on the road back home to the funeral industry. The careers were opposites in many ways and each held their own appeal.
Al believes in staying active as you age, just because you can, and has had a couple of health scares that have given him a true appreciation of life. Working on his “bucket list” Al and his companion Bev Bailer like to travel and winter in Arizona. Al also loves working on old vehicles and has a couple sitting waiting to be restored. Al and his wife Patricia, who he lost 5 years ago, have 2 grown children with families of their own, Keith in Coaldale and Lorna in Duchess and he enjoys time with his 5 grandchildren.
